Marathon news
I got a London Marathon place! That's the big one I'm building towards. I distinctly remember, at the end of my first half marathon, thinking I would never entertain the idea of running twice as far, but I entered the ballot on a whim and I'm pretty excited to have been lucky enough to get in.
Before that, I'm running a solo marathon in November which might be even more grueling - no crowd to cheer me on, no aid stations, just the determination to see off the distance. Hoping to come in around 4h15 and then I can work towards sub-4 in April.
And in September I've been invited by a friend to join him in running the Terry Fox Run UK, which will serve as a sort of checkpoint. It's a fun run rather than a proper race, but I'll treat it as a time trial to see where my fitness is and hope to come in quicker than 1h.
Everything else
It's been a while since I posted, so a few other things worth mentioning.
Spare time has mostly gone on a couple of hobby projects. One which I'm excited to share is strava-mcp, an MCP server that lets Claude read my Strava data directly instead of me copying stats in by hand. The other is going deeper on AI beyond the day job - responsible deployment, guardrails, evals, prompt design - my strava MCP project is one output of that.
I also did a DJ set recently, and I'm hoping to get back to practising in the studio more regularly.
More updates as things progress.
